significant large Cuprite with Miersite (rare!)

Impressive in size and form, this stout cluster of interconnected, large Cuprite octahedrons is virtually complete-all-around. The metallic luster is very good, as is the form, with the largest crystal being 2.9 cm across in this small cabinet sized cluster! This is HUGE for the material, in such good condition., Also note the very rare association with Miersite, a Silver Copper Iodine mineral. The Miersite is found in very small clusters of yellow crystals tucked in several crevasses around the specimen. It is a nice bonus to what is already a significant cuprite specimen on its own merits, however. The small bits of brown you see are remnant pocket clay. We left this on to prove the lustre and surface is natural, and not chemically cleaned. One of the nicer, more aesthetic of these combinations I have seen, this small cabinet piece was probably found in well-known pocket zone circa 2010, that was highlighted by these specimens. Valued at the time, certainly $4000-5000 when they came out. The good ones of this size (275 grams! ) and quality have not been seen since.
