Item Description
Juicy, translucent, "wet-look", smithonsite botryoids fill the striking large vug in scuptural, CABINET, matrix on this classic and most excellent specimen from the famed Kelly Mine. The botryoids are the desirable "Kelly blue" with just a bit more sea-green, than the photos show. Old-time, seldom available today larger material from the Dennis Mullane Collection. The hefty matrix, 789 grams, appears to be microcrystalline to botryoidal smithsonite, rather than silicified limestone. Pure smithsonite would explain the higher weight.
