Goethite on a Limonite matrix provides the backdrop for this fine, representative Smithsonite specimen from the famous Santa Eulalia District. The colorless, botryoidal Smithsonites are translucent, and they have an attractive, satin luster that is very appealing against the dark grey of the Goethite. The largest of these Smithsonites, which are spread attractively across the piece, is about 7-8 mm across. A choice Smithsonite from the locality, and a nice Smithsonite, period.
