Item Description
A classic example of the rare smithsonite from rural Arkansas, colored yellow due to inclusions of cadmium as an element; or perhaps the cadmium-rich mineral greenockite (or both). This is a large, vuggy example with a beautiful display face of rippling botryoidal smithsonite. Honestly, it can do with a trip to the lab for cleaning and looks mine run, only washed with water since it was found. It looks like older material, but there is no telling when. It masses in at just over a kilo, so when you hold it, there is no doubt that this is smithsonite! A large, display-quality example from an unusual and highly sought after USA locale.
