A dramatically sculptural large cluster of intergrown smoky quartz crystals from one of the famous localities in Bern, Switzerland. All of the sharply terminated crystals in this stunning 360-degree assemblage have rich smoky color and are entirely water-clear gem. The crystals have a beautiful deep clove-brown hue when backlit. The prisms are highlighted by fine lustre, stepped-growth faces and variable selective dusting of green chlorite. Also, all four of the major smokies are doubly terminated at: 9.5 cm (upright crystal); 7.8 cm ("matrix crystal"); 5.2 cm: and 4.8 cm, adding even more character. Complete all-around and essentially pristine. The contact on the side of the large crystal has no damage, per se. The attachments are on smaller crystals and the bit of white adularia. Ex University of Arizona Collection and valued by the former dealer at $1250. This very fine smoky from this famous area has multiple display possibilities.
