Item Description

Spangolite is one of the great rarities from the various coppers mines around American southwest. Specimens are always in demand and incredibly difficult to obtain. Here we have a great toenail sized specimen from Bingham featuring sharp, well-formed, gemmy beautiful blue-green color Spangolite crystals with minor green Malachite (possibly Brochantite) and Azurite on matrix. The piece looks beautiful up close, and if you collect secondary copper minerals or minerals of New Mexico, you need to have one of these in your collection. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#1251). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
