Item Description

An artistic crystallized copper from a New Find at this super large Chinese Cu-Mo-Au deposit. The sculptural flattened sturdy arborescent piece is composed of striking branching "limbs" of spinel-twinned crystals. Tiny euhedral to subhedral tetrahexahedral crystals are attached to some of the spinel-twins, adding character. The crystals have a beautiful variable patina and iridescence and some areas have red Cuprite coatings or embedded matrix, adding even more color and contrast. Each side looks distinctively different on this aesthetic small cabinet. Copper of this style compares favorably with classics from Michigan, Bisbee, Namibia or Kazakhstan. An excellent example from the find.
