Item Description

Beautifully sculptural arborescent crystallized copper from a New Find at this super large Cu-Mo-Au deposit. The flattened sturdy piece is composed of artistic "limbs" of spinel-twinned crystals. Tiny euhedral to subhedral tetrahexahedral crystals are attached to some of the spinel-twins, adding character. The crystals have a beautiful variable patina and iridescence and some areas have red Cuprite coatings, green Malachite coatings or embedded matrix, adding even more color and contrast. Both sides look great on this very aesthetic large specimen. Copper of this style compares favorably with classics from Michigan, Bisbee, Namibia or Kazakhstan. An exceptional example from the find, one of the very best we received. Valued at $1500-2000.
