Item Description
Here is a very interesting thumbnail showing a sharp chalcopyrite crystal - iconic and typical in shape - that has been replaced by the rare tin sulfide stannite, giving the shape a lustrous, gunmetal gray color that strikes you as wrong right away. For chalcopyrite, it would be a wrong color, too! We know it is at least a coating or partial replacement, and possibly a full replacement (cannot tell without slicing it open, which as it is a full 360-degree complete crystal, we do not do). This is a full sized thumbnail, competition worthy, and with a beautiful quartz for accent.
