Item Description

A sculptural, aesthetic and uncommon small cabinet combination stibnite cluster from this old 1990s Chinese locale. The intersecting, sharply terminated, brilliantly lustrous, well-striated, metallic blades are nicely accented by the small side car prism on the side. The back of the piece is richly, preferentially coated with rare aggregates of tiny, creamy barite blades. The trival bit of bruising has negligible impact to the high quality of this piece. See the 2007 Mineralogical Record article in the China-II Special Issue, Vol. 38, No. 1. Specimens from this privately operated mine came out in the late 1990s, with none since. Ex Herb Obodda specimen. It has two fine presentation views. Stibnite and barite combinations from here are considered Chinese classics and this is an excellent example.
