Tarnowitzite is the lead-bearing variety of Aragonite and comes as the best of its variety from Tsumeb! This showy and important piece shows the Tarnowitzite filling a colorful, elongate vug in a Cerussite and Duftite matrix. Scores of sharp, lustrous, translucent, cream colored, prismatic Tarnowitzite crystals from 0.5 to 2.5 cm line this vug and provide stark contrast to the colorful matrix pocket in which it is so well protected. It has the typical style unique to Tsumeb with hexagonal-shaped crystals and shallow-sloping, pyramidal terminations. Nearly all of the crystals are well-terminated and there is only minor peripheral contacting. This is a very nice and important cabinet piece for the abundance of crystals and presentation of the piece.
