Tennantite

Item Description

Tennantite was one of the most significant ore minerals at Tsumeb and so as you might expect, most of it was thrown into the crushers for ore. This excellent miniature Tennantite cluster consists of several, well-formed, battleship gray crystals of Tennantite to 1.7 cm on edge displaying a matte luster. They are loosely clustered to show off their distinct tetrahedral form! (Note this is the reason why many older specimen are actually mislabelled as tetrahedrite). A few small clusters of tiny, white Quartz crystals are present on the back side. This piece is one of the best miniatures we've seen in it's size class and displays nicely. This specimen is classic "old Tsumeb!"
