Item Description

Theisite is a rare copper zinc arsenate-antimonate which is named after our fellow Mineralogical Association of Dallas (MAD) member, Nick Theis. This specimen is from the type locality for the species, the lesser known Tuckerville Prospects (Tucker's Tunnel) in Southwestern Colorado. This piece features micro translucent green colored spots of Theisite on both sides of the specimen. There are also some micro spots of an unknown sky blue species along with a yellow mineral (possibly Cuproroméite?). If you collect rare minerals, or species from the type locality, do NOT miss out on this chance to get your hands on this piece. From the worldwide collection of David Burgess (1951-2016), and accompanied by a label from noted rarities dealer Josef Vajdak. David was a prolific species collector from Newington, Connecticut, and the namesake for the extremely rare cobalt arsenate species Burgessite, which he discovered.
