Topaz - superb locality specimen

Here is a classic Topaz specimen from Mexico featuring one prominent crystal and several smaller ones associated with pinkish gray rhyolite matrix. The robust crystal measures 1.8 cm in length and 1.6 cm in width and the smaller crystals on the piece range between 0.5 to 1 cm in maximum dimension. The stout, lustrous, prismatic crystals are all in pristine condition, and all the terminations are complete. The crystals are very gemmy, with portions being included by a trace amount of Hematite giving them their rusty red color. The large crystal even shows one face indicating pyramidal modification. This big crystal is also a richer red compared to the other smaller ones at the underside of the piece. An attractive Topaz from the rhyolites in Mexico that akin to the ones in Utah that also produce Topaz. Very rare in this quality!
