Item Description

This piece dates back to 2005, when we saw a few select finds of these attractive and interesting Tourmalines from Vietnam. The pocket that produced these gorgeous green and pink bi-colored crystals, as easily one of , it not the best from Minh Tien, and it certainly took me by surprise. It features lustrous, gemmy crystals in a somewhat "burst"-like spray, with a beautiful pink core that transitions into a lovely greenish hue, and in some areas, returns to an orange-pink color o nthe trigonal terminations. The color gradient is subtle and hard to describe in words, but I think obvious in the photo. There are some separation marks where the piece was either intergrown with additional Tourmaline crystals, or where it was attacehd to the pocket, but otherwise it is complete. The splayed-out nature of the habit is also well-developed here, making the piece more interesting than the typical "vertical stick" appearance of so many tourmalines. I have not seen more of this style in years now. Specimen weight is 27.6 grams.
