Item Description

Mineral specimens of ANY type are EXTREMELY RARE from this extinct underground Pb-Fe-V-Mo-Mn mine or group of claims. MINDAT lists seven species for the locality, with NO examples in the Photo Gallery. Lustrous, translucent orange-brown, textbook hexagonal vanadinite prisms, to 4 mm, are richly peppered on the large hefty smooth undulating sculptural banded manganite ore matrix. There are sprays of bright metallic pyrolusite prisms covering most of the bottom of the piece, as an additonal rare bonus. We showed this piece to our resident PhD mineralogist, Tom Campbell, who confirmed the species. Ex Gary Weaver Collection. A UNIQUE, RARE and showy vanadinite and manganite combination from this obscure locale. A MUST for the species or Arizona collector!
