Item Description

This locality is best known for its specimens of radial Wavellite, but here we have a hard to find example of Variscite featuring gentle green colored patches on slate matrix. Most people don't realize that the type locality for Variscite is actually in Germany, and if you collect old classics or worldwide phosphates, this is a must have since it's honestly the FIRST piece we've ever had to offer from Langenstriegis. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12753). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
