Item Description

Striking jackstraw clusters of parallel-growth vivianite blades dramatically line a sculptural vug in nodular ironstone matrix on this showy, rich and excellent 360-degree small cabinet from the Crimea. The lustrous, frosty blades are charcoal-gray to faint translucent gray-green under bright light. This phosphate deposit is mined through and extinct. Specimens of this quality only come from recycled collections. Valued by the former dealer at $250 a number of years ago.
