Item Description

A beautiful newly mined stone of what the locals are calling "White Plume Agate" from near the Gunung Sawe mountain in East Java. The material is essentially pastel lavender chalcedony/agate which plays host to beautiful "feathery" white inclusions or "plumes", hence the name. I'm told that this material is volcanic in origin, but I'm not certain if this is accurate. This particular stone was only recently mined in April of 2022, and is one of only a handful that we acquired from our source. It's a fine quality and very attractive gem that I'm sure the vast majority of you don't have in your collections. I've never seen plume agate quite like this from anywhere else, as the material typically features darker colored "plumes", so the white colored material is rare. For the starting bid, this stone is priced at LESS than $2/carat, so it's a great bargain for what it is.
