Item Description

Back in 2013 I purchased this piece in parcel from a small group of miners who risked losing their jobs at the Porco mine, when they "liberated" some specimens from being sent to the smelter in an attempt to make some extra for their families. I was fortunate enough to obtain a few pieces, and they are by far some of the better contemporary Silver specimens that I've seen from this mine in a long time. Typically the Silver specimens from Bolivia are somewhat "flat" and boring, but this piece is aesthetic for a Bolivian specimen. It has an elegant form and curvature with a nice antique patina on the surface. It's important to note that the mine at Porco is THE oldest and most significant Silver mine in Bolivia, so if you're lucky enough to get your hands on a specimen of this classic material, it's a real treat. What makes this piece even more valuable is the fact that it's a GROUP of wires, and not just a single "thread".
