Item Description

These bladed crystals can be quite gemmy, and this is one of the better pieces I have seen from the Empire mine, a rare Arizona location for wulfenite. Up to 7 mm in size, highly lustrous, orange-yellow Wulfenite crystals profusely cover the upper half of this small cabinet specimen, and are scattered about on the rest. It also bears a good deal of similarity to some pieces from the nearby Total Wreck mine and the Old Yuma mine but I trust the labeling of Bob Reynolds, who had an extensive collection of wulfenite, a network of friends who collected these firsthand in the southern USA, and who left us his label on it. When we acquired this collection, we obtained a huge wulfenite suite with many surprises! This was recently deaccessed from his extensive collection after his death. Bob was a respected and highly prolific author and has had several curating positions in museums.
