Pyromorphite on Quartz (self-collected by Paul Zerfass)

Item Description

Several generations of olive-greeen pyromorphite crystals are richly and attractively draped on the large 3-dimensional undulating matrix of starkly contrasting iron oxide-coated crystallized and massive quartz. The textbook hexagonal prisms reach 5 mm on this sculptural piece. The interior is essentially pristine, with only trivial bruising and the periphery wear showing the underlying milky quartz adds stark colorful pizzazz. The piece displays very well from both sides without aid. Self-collected by Paul Zerfass # 899. A rich and large sculptural classic from the famed Les Farges Mine.
