Item Description

Scheelite specimens from this remote Siberian locality are easily the finest Russian examples, that have reached markets in the West. Sharply terminated, translucent/gemmy, lustrous tetragonal crystals with rich yellow-orange color are aesthetically intergrown to form a showy, excellent and uncommon specimen from the limited early 1990s finds. The prominent doubly terminated crystal at the top is 2.0 cm and the pristine doubly terminated crystal on the bottom-right is 2.3 cm. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 12643 and acquired from the Scott Williams Collection. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A very fine, rich and uncommon pristine scheelite from this locale. Ghostly white fluorescence.
