Item Description

This mine has produced some of the most famous Tourmaline specimens in the world. This is a very attractive matrix specimen, featuring lustrous, gemmy, beautiful pink colored crystals of Tourmaline measuring up to 3.6 cm long aesthetically sitting on slightly smoky colored Quartz. Interestingly, both of the Tourmaline crystals show an unusual and rare "curved" habit, which is rare for Tourmaline, but not unheard of from the Himalaya Mine. No damage on the display side, and the piece is actually recrystallized on the back, so it's nearly a "floater". I can't say for sure which pocket this piece is from, but I'm certain that there are Himalaya experts out there who would know. Good luster on the prism faces, and a classic example of these fantastic specimens from the Himalaya. A wonderful display piece from this historic locality. Valued at $1850 for the size, quality, aesthetics and scarcity on the market. The piece comes with a label from Mark and Jeanette Rogers of Yucaipa, California.
