Item Description

Hakansboda cobalbite specimens are a highly desirable European classic. This is a superb, sharp, splendent, silver-metallic, pseudopyritohedral crystal. This is an exceptional 360-degree old-time example from this historic copper, then cobalt mining area. Mining started in the early 1400s for copper. The main mining period was from 1702 until 1873, with minor mining during World War I (MINDAT). Complete all-around and essentially pristine. Every turn presents a different perspective. The small attachment is out-of-sight on the bottom. This famed old locale is noted for some of the finest cobaltite specimens in the world and this is a superlative example. Valued at $1500-2500. A major piece from an old family collection in Europe!
