Item Description
Forsterite variety peridot is seldom available today from this extinct, famous and ancient locale in the Red Sea. This sharply terminated thumbnail gem crystal has fine form and beautiful yellow-green color. Some faces are lightly frosted. This island mine is now submerged underwater and inaccessible, gone forever. Specimens can still be obtained in old collections from time to time. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. 12.82 carats.
