Malachite has partially pseudomorphed an impressive and sculptural V-shaped pair of stout, tabular azurite crystals from famed Tsumeb. The lustrous, well-striated crystals are visibly and colorfully enhanced by the attached bits of orange-brown matrix and smaller crystals. Both ends of the large crystals were contacted against the vug walls, which is certainly acceptable in the context of this very fine and aesthetic two-sided piece. Classic Tsumeb malachite after azurite. Valued by the former dealer at $1500.
