Item Description
An amazingly colorful, sculptural and rare combination from this historic poly-metallic baryte-fluorite mine, opened in 1726. Pretty mint-green malachite preferentially coats pyramidal iron-stained quartz crystals, to 5 mm. The MINDAT malachite photo gallery for the Clara Mine, has nothing that resembles this lovely combination, making it a rarity. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 5441. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). Formerly in the Wouter Van Tichelen Collection.
