Item Description

A rare, unusual style and color of rhodochrosite from the famous Sunnyside Mine. Clusters of light rose pink, lustrous and translucent flattened disk-like rhombs are richly scattered on all sides of the contrasting large sculptural vuggy quartz matrix. RARE and excellent large combination material from the Don Owens Collection. Don was the Chief Geologist at the old Union Carbide vanadium mine in Arkansas and we recently obtained his collection. Comes with a faded 1960s-70s label from THE PROSPECT HOLE rock shop in Silverrton and was undoubtedly collected while the mine was active. A MUST for the species or Colorado collector!
