Item Description

A delightful and eye-catching, 3-dimensional, large cabinet specimen from Lubumbashi. A large crystallized vug features excellent, RAZOR-sharp, very lustrous, stout, off-white to colorless, hexagonal crystals of Quartz measuring up to 2.6 cm which are lightly coated by small acicular crystals of brilliant emerald green Malachite and associated with very bright greenish-blue Chrysocolla on gossan matrix. This combination is incredibly eye-catching and unlike anything I've seen from this area and creates a wonderful aesthetic appeal. All three minerals make for a great balance beautifully complimenting one another. Very little damage and so darned attractive! If you collect specimens from the Katanga area, this is a MUST HAVE as I honestly have never seen one quite like it, and the fact that it's a big display specimen makes it all the more impressive. I don't know specifically when it was mined, but my guess it that it dates back a few decades as I have never seen anything from a contemporary discovery that even remotely resembles this specimen. Valued at $2,800 in the inventory.
