Item Description

A handful of FINE quality, sharp, lustrous, intense red, gemmy crystals of Cinnabar with a very attractive habit, nicely sitting among rhombic Dolomite on matrix. The largest Cinnabar crystal measures 1.1 cm. Very pretty piece with great color, and they aren't as common as they once were. This is old material from China, actually some of the most well known among collectors when very little was available from China in the 1970s. No real damage that I can see with the naked eye. Valued at $1500. This deposit accounts for 50% of all the mercury deposits in China! From the collection of Senator / Dr. Miguel Romero of Teuhuacan, Mexico (Collection #8050), and comes with a lucite base from Miguel's collection.
