Item Description

A dramatically sculptural, sharp and very well preserved large Pleistocene-aged (2,588,000 to 11,700 years ago) snail-like critter from Florida. Two stunning vugs are lined with fluoresent golden-yellow dogtooth calcite crystals. The fossilized shell material is bone-white or beige, including the numerous small embedded clams! The gray replacment material is very fine-grained quartz sandstone. Complete all-around and pristine, this is an outstanding large fossilized example of this style, and valued higher than the more common "clam fossil" replacements.
