Item Description

An attractive large cabinet specimen featuring sharp, well-formed, translucent golden color cubic crystals of Fluorite with associated etched, silvery-grey Galena and minor Calcite on matrix. The largest Fluorite crystal measures 3.7 cm on edge. The most interesting aspect of the specimen to me is that the Fluorites have an unusual somewhat "textured" appearance on the surface of the faces, that almost resemble a sponge-like form. No real damage that I can see, on the display side, but it is obviously not complete around the periphery where it was removed from the pocket. This locality is well known for its Fluorite specimens, though they are few and far between on the market these days. This area is completely closed down and will never produce these specimens again. Ex Brian Kosnar collection, valued at $3,000. PLEASE NOTE that due to the size and weight of this specimen, an additional shipping charge will be required, so please keep this in mind when bidding.
