Item Description

Garnets come in virtually every color of the rainbow, and the crystals from Navegadora have some of the richest red hues you'll see for any species of this vast group. This particular stone was faceted from a broken crystal from Navegadora. The color is a deep red-orange when viewed through the table, but shows more of an orange tone when viewed through the culet. The stone has VVS clarity and an "Oval Brilliant" cut. It's not common to see faceted gems of this material, and considering that the material seems to have "dried up" on the market recently, they will be very difficult to find. If you collect Garnets, this is a must have based upon the locality and the fact that it's well over 1 carat in weight.
