Item Description

One of the most versatile of gemstones, Tourmaline is available in every color, from colorless to black. You can find every tone from pastel to dark, and even with one or more colors appearing in the same stone. Known for centuries, Tourmaline first gained popularity when the Dutch began to import it in the early 17th century from Sri Lanka. They gave the gem a Sinhalese name, "Turamali", which means stone with mixed colors. This is a nice yellow-green color gem, with nearly eye clean clarity and a "Brilliant Square" cut. This gem is from a recent find of what it often called "Sunset Tourmaline" A perfect stone to add to a suite of Tourmalines if you're looking for that perfect color gem for your collection. Keep in mind that Tourmaline is classified as a Type-3 gemstone (same as Emerald) which means that inclusions are almost always present and accepted by dealers and collectors, so when you have a clean gem like this, it's a real treat.
