Item Description

A rarely seen Strickland Cleavelandite rom the collection of Allen Heyl (for whom the species Aheylite was named after) who obtained it from Ward's the historic mineral dealership. The piece features remarkable, rather thick, blocky, sharp, lustrous, white to colorless, bladed crystals of Cleavelandite with associated Quartz. The surface of the Cleavelandite crystals is notably lustrous. A hard to find and desirable specimen from this 150+ year old locality in New England. You don't see a lot of Strickland specimens on the market these days, and they are some of the most in-demand pieces from the East Coast of the U.S.
