Item Description

This piece has some rather lustrous and beautiful crystals of rich orange color Orpiment with crystal groups measuring up to 2.5 cm aesthetically sitting on matrix. The luster is very good, and the crystals GLOW with color when backlit. Overall there is very little damage and the piece is quite showy for the material. It's more three-dimensional than many I've seen from this locality. From the finds in the 1990s that re-defined how beautiful Orpiment can be and also set a new standard for Orpiment from the United States. Valued at $1800 in the inventory.
