Agates are defined as a variety of Chalcedony, which is a variety of cryptocrystalline Quartz. Laguna Agates have some of the most beautiful patterns with wonderful colors and excellent banding. The best of these specimens fetch big price tags in the Agate collecting community, and it's easy to see why. This particular piece has a gorgeous pattern with hues ranging from lavender to lilac to a purplish-pink to golden orange with beautiful geometric banded forms.
