Item Description

Nagyagitei s a rare lead, antimony, gold, tellurium sulfosalt, was first described from this ancient locality in 1845. It actually gets its name from the old Hungarian name for Sacarimb, (Nagyag). Several fine quality, sharp, lustrous, metallic, lamellar crystals measuring up to a few mm are mixed in / on Calcite and pinkish Dolomite on matrix. Specimens from the historic Type Locality are quite rare and this is a fine and fairly rich example. This specimen is over 160 years old, and certainly a VERY worthwhile pickup for any collector. From an old East Coast collection, with a typed label from an unknown dealer.
