Item Description

Here we have a really cool miniature specimen of soft green colored Apatites from the famous Sapo mine from a few years ago. These crystals have a unique appearance with compressed prismatic form, but still showing very sharp, highly lustrous faces with nice translucency. Interestingly enough, the piece has hollow cavity in the center, that is actually open at the top, so you can blow through it like a whistle. It's almost as if the piece grew in a "Faden" form, and then the "Faden" was dissolved away leaving the empty tube-like cavity. Good quality all aroud, save the very top where it was removed from the pocket wall. HARD TO PHOTOGRAPH, best seen in person. If you collect Apatites, phosphate or Brazilian minerals. don't miss out on this interesting and eye-catching Apatite that truly doesn't look like an Apiate I've seen from any other locality. It appears that Sapo may never produce these attractive specimens of unusual Apatite again.
