Item Description

Despite the fact that this province is incredibly well-known for its pegmatite minerals (Tourmaline, Spodumene, etc.), these specimens are actually from a metamorphic skarn deposit. These are some of the lesser known Epidotes from this area, as most people associate Epidote with Pakistan. This piece hosts sharp, lustrous, golden-brown (more green in different lighting), gemmy, well-formed compressed crystals of Epidote associated with minor brownish Andradite and greenish-blue groups of Clinochlore. The largest Epidote measures 4 mm, and most of them are damage free. An attractive small miniature specimen from this interesting occurence in Afghanistan.
