Item Description

Petalite is a fairly rare lithium aluminum silicate, and occasionally superb gemmy crystals like this are found among the beautiful Tourmalines for which Paprok is known. This particular petalite is large, semi-lustrous and rather gemmy, but the most important aspect of the piece is the fact that it shows notably sharp and well-formed faces. It's not an etched former crystal, but actually shows distinct smooth faces, though there are some areas of etching here and there. Complete-all-around, and an excellent example of the species. The center of the crystal is VERY gemmy and would actually yield a fine quality gemstone. It's difficult to find Petalites this size with ANY remaining crystal faces, so this is superb opportunity to pick up a near competition quality miniature of this hard to find gem material. From the dealer stock of Herb Obodda, valued at $2000 for the gemminess and fine crystallization.
