Item Description

One of the classic Quartz-lined geodes from Las Choyas, Mexico featuring crystallized purple Amethyst with beautifully banded blue Agate around the periphery. Both halves are polished showing colors ranging from a soft silvery-blue to nearly white around the exterior edges with rich purple in the center. Interestingly, one half is sprinkled with little silvery-gold Calcite crystals, while the other half is virtually untouched. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the size and weight of the set, an additional shipping charge will be required, please keep this in mind when bidding. This set comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. You can read Willard's bio on the Mineralogical Record website here ( http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1528 ).
