Quartz / Amethyst Geode (ex Willard Wulff Collection)

Item Description

One of the classic Quartz-lined geodes from Las Choyas, Mexico featuring crystallized purple Amethyst with beautifully banded blue Agate around the periphery. Both halves are polished showing colors ranging from a soft silvery-blue to nearly white around the exterior edges with rich purple in the center. Interestingly, one half is sprinkled with little silvery-gold Calcite crystals, while the other half is virtually untouched. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936.
