Item Description

Over the last several decades, we've seen from attractive Aquamarine crystals from the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho, but we've also seen some fine quality crystallized Feldspars as well. Here we have a lovely cabinet sized display specimen featuring slightly pinkish colored blocky prismatic crystals of Microcline measuring up ot 2.3 cm which are associated with dark Smoky Quartz crystals measuring up to 1.5 cm on matrix. You can see accenting small white crystals of Albite on the piece creating a nice contrast all over the specimen. You don't see a lot of pieces like this on the market today, and this one was probably mined 40 years ago (late 1970s) and would make a nice addition to any US collection or a suite of Feldspars or pegmatite minerals. From the worldwide collection of noted Idaho collector Geary Murdock. Among other accomplishments, Geary was responsible for discovering some of the finest gem grade deep blue Aquamarine crystals in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho - which remain arguably the finest Aquamarines from any North American locality. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/36634006/geary-jack-murdock
