Item Description

About 20 years ago (1999) this little known locality (at the time) started producing some superb "Japan-Law" twinned Quartz specimens. This mine is near Pampa Blanca which is famous for its attractive Epidote specimens, but good Quartz crystals are typically not very common in the area. This piece is a lovely small cabinet display specimen featuring a few predominant, sharp, well-formed "Japan-Law" twin of Quartz with additional single Quartz crystals on minor matrix. The largest twin measures 2.6 cm across. These crystals are distinctively different than most I've seen from the locality as they have a secondary, sugary / drusy overgrowth, giving them some real character. Good quality for the most part, but the piece is understandably contacted around the periphery where it was removed from the pocket wall.
