Item Description

From the lesser known Kassandra Mines in Greece, here we have a lovely old time Rhodochrosite specimen. The piece features unsually columnar, almost "finger"-like crystals of bright baby pink Rhodochrosite measuring up to 1.1 cm long. The piece is solid Rhodochrosite, no matrix. For the most part, the majority of the Rhodos are undamaged, but there are some contacted crystals here and there. This is the kind of piece to add to a worldwide Rhodochrosite collection to check a box on that "rare locality" checklist. Beautiful material and fun to view up close. From the worldwide Rhodochrosite collection of Dr. William S. Logan (Specimen #X13-1) with a few labels from previous dealers. Valued at $800 retail.
