Item Description

A cool piece for Fluorite collectors. This specimen was found in early 2018, from a good friend in Pakistan who let me know that there were some attractive Fluorites coming from Baluchistan. This area is best known for its Brookites and now Brucites, but the Fluorites are really attractive and rarely seen on the market. They somewhat remind me of Fluorites from southern Illinois with their cubic habit and attractive color zoning. This small cabinet specimen features sharp, well-formed stacked cubic crystals of Fluorite with a bluish-purple color at its core, and a virtually colorless zone on the exterior. A small bit of associated Calcite can be seen on the surface of the piece. The back / underside of the piece is actually partially recrystallized, so it's not completely broken as you might think. Overall, the piece is in good shape and truly looks better in person. If you collect Fluorite, be sure to check out this eye-catching and uniquely specimen from this fairly new locality.
