Item Description

A handful of sharp, very lustrous, GEM quality, soft blue colored, hexagonal prissm of Aquamarine with smooth crystal faces is from and undisclosed locality in Minas Gerais, Brazil. A bit of iron oxide inclusions make for a nice two-tone effect. I love the combination of the pyramidal terminations on the longest crystal that is juxtaposed with the flat basal terminations of the smaller crystals. I can't see any real damage outside of the base, and it's quite showy and three-dimensional since there are multiple crystals present - which is not common for Brazil. Valued at $600. From the collection of Rolando Gioia (a contributor to new definitive book on Brazilian minerals: "Minerais e Pedras Preciosas do Brasil").
