Item Description

A beautiful multi-color ethced specimen of Fluorite from the famous Minervia #1 Mine featuring a sharp, lustrous, GEMMY, blue, purple and golden color cubic group measuring 3.4 cm at its longest dimension sitting on etched Fluorite with associated Barite and Sphalerite. The piece displays wonderfully as you can see from the photo, and it GLOWS with color when backlit as the outer purple / blue exterior is illuminated by the beautiful yellow interior. This locality is well known for amazing multi-color Fluorite specimens, though they are few and far between on the market these days. This area is completely closed down and will never produce these specimens again. Ex Ross Lillie collection (#RCL0250), whose label states that it was collected in November 1992 in the Adams / Clanton drift. The label also states that the etched appearance is due to Barite breccia that was dissolved in the pocket. Valued at $950.
