Item Description

A beautiful and rarely seen association specimen of wonderfully sharp, gemmy, lustrous, well-formed cubic crystals of yellow Fluorite with crystals measuring up to 1.2 cm on edge associated with contrasting dark silvery grey Galena crystal measuring up to 9 mm on matrix. The piece is not pristine as there are some contacts here and there, but overall, the combination - especially from this locality - is beautiful and very hard to find on the market. This might actually be the FIRST specimen that we've had of Fluorite with Galena from the Reiche Zeche Mine, which is actually the type locality for Freibergite. Valued at $650. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#4464). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
